Industry का अर्थ फैक्ट्रियों और व्यवसायों में वस्तुओं का उत्पादन होता है, या फिर व्यापार/अर्थव्यवस्था का कोई विशेष क्षेत्र जैसे फिल्म, पर्यटन या तकनीक। यह सामान्य रूप से औद्योगिक उत्पादन या किसी खास आर्थिक क्षेत्र—दोनों के लिए इस्तेमाल हो सकता है।

Usage Notes (Hindi)

Common patterns हैं 'the car industry', 'the music industry' और 'work in the industry'। यह शब्द अक्सर किसी भी business sector के लिए इस्तेमाल होता है, सिर्फ factories के लिए नहीं। इसे 'factory' से confuse न करें, क्योंकि 'factory' एक जगह होती है; और इसका पुराना अर्थ 'hard work' भी है, लेकिन रोज़मर्रा की English में वह कम मिलता है।
