食事の後にお腹が重い、痛いなどの不快感があり、主に消化がうまくできないことが原因です。

医療や日常会話の両方でよく使われます。'have indigestion'（消化不良がある）のように表現します。膨満感や胸やけなども含まれますが、'food poisoning'（食中毒）とは異なります。
