自分自身の考えや判断で、他人の助けや干渉なしに行動すること。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

「独立して仕事する」「独立して考える」など、助けや影響を受けずに行動する意味で使います。「alone」とは異なり、物理的に一人とは限りません。
