Definition

他人に無理やりお願いごとや負担をかけること。

丁寧な場面で不便や負担を詫びる時（'Sorry for the imposition'）によく使われます。規則や個人的な頼みごとにも使われますが、物には使いません。

I hope this request is not an imposition.

このお願いが**押しつけ**にならないといいのですが。
