物事がどれだけ価値や影響、意味を持つかを表します。特に状況や決定、結果において重要であることを示します。

「the importance of ～」「of great importance」「place importance on～」などのパターンでよく使われます。「priority（優先順位）」とは違い、価値や意味を表します。ややフォーマルな表現です。

Teachers often talk about the importance of reading.
