"hush" in Bengali
Definition
কাউকে চুপ করতে বলা, বা কোনো শান্ত, নীরব পরিবেশ বোঝানো হয়। কখনও কখনও কাউকে কথা বলা বা কান্না থামাতে বাধ্য করাকেও বোঝায়।
Usage Notes (Bengali)
বাচ্চাদের উদ্দেশে 'চুপ!' ব্যবহার করলে তা কোমল শোনায়। 'চুপ করান' জোরে বলা হয় না। 'hush up' মানে গোপন রাখা বা চেপে রাখা।

The teacher told the class to hush.
শিক্ষক ক্লাসকে **চুপ** করতে বলেছিলেন।
A sudden hush filled the room.
হঠাৎ **শান্তি** ঘরটিকে ভরিয়ে দিল।
She picked up the crying child and tried to hush him.
সে কাঁদতে থাকা শিশুটিকে তুলে নিয়ে **চুপ করানোর** চেষ্টা করল।
As soon as the lights went out, a hush fell over the crowd.
