「hang」の過去形・過去分詞で、上から吊り下げられている状態を表します。歴史的や法律的な文脈では絞首刑の意味でも使われます。

物や絵を吊るすときは‘hung’を使います。人が首を吊られて処刑される場合は通常‘hanged’が使われます。‘hung up’や‘hung out’などの熟語も同じ形です。

The picture was hung on the wall above the sofa.
