Bir rengin belirli bir tonu veya ana rengidir. Örneğin, kırmızı veya mavi gibi bir rengin temel çeşidi anlamına gelir.

'Ton' daha çok sanat, tasarım veya teknik konularda kullanılır, günlük konuşmada ise genelde 'renk' denir. 'The hue of her dress' ifadesi elbisenin ana tonunu belirtir.
