物事の方法や状態、やり方をたずねるときに使う言葉です。

フォーマル・インフォーマル両方でよく使い、『How do you...?』『How is...?』のような疑問文によく現れます。『How about...』は提案や意見を求める時に使います。『what』との使い分けに注意しましょう。
