Definition

人質とは、誰かに拘束され、要求を通すために解放されない人のことです。

主に犯罪や危険な状況で使われます。「人質を取る」「人質を解放する」などの表現があります。比喩的にも「恐怖の人質になる」などで使われますが、基本は文字通りの意味で使われます。
