Definición

一種非常不正式且過時的叫喊，用於引起別人注意，常見於故事或遠距離呼喊。有時在民謠或戲謔語境中出現。

現代英語極少使用，多出現在經典文學、故事或懷舊及戲謔語境。不可用於正式場合。常見於“Land ho!”（看到陸地）或“Heave ho!”（團體使力時）。日常對話不能替代“hey”。

Suddenly, he called out, "Hos! Who goes there?"

突然，他大喊：「**喂**！誰在那裡？」

The pirate shouted, "Hos! Lower the sails!"

海盜大喊：「**喂**！把帆降下來！」

In the old story, the king often yelled "Hos!" to summon his guards.
