Definición

蹄鉄は馬のひづめを守るためにつけるU字型の金属です。また、“ホースシューズ”はその蹄鉄を的に投げる屋外ゲームも指します。

通常は複数形で使い、馬具とも遊びとも指します。ゲームの場合「ホースシューズを投げる」と言う表現があります。人間の“靴”とは関係ありません。
