Definition

馬蹄は馬のひづめを保護するために取り付けるＵ字型の金具です。また、幸運のお守りやＵ字型の物も指します。

主に馬のひづめ用の金具として使われますが、幸運のシンボルやU字型のものにも使います。「horseshoe shape」のように形容にも使われます。
