लोगों या जानवरों का बहुत बड़ा समूह, जो अक्सर एक साथ, अराजक या अनियंत्रित तरीके से चलता है; कभी-कभी जंगली भीड़ का अर्थ भी होता है।

Usage Notes (Hindi)

इस शब्द में साधारणतः हल्का नकारात्मक या नाटकीय भाव होता है; इसका प्रयोग भीड़ के लिए जो डरावनी, बेकाबू या अस्त-व्यस्त लगे: 'a horde of fans', 'horde of locusts'। छोटी या शांत भीड़ के लिए नहीं। प्रायः singular में ('a horde'), लेकिन 'hordes of' भी आम है। इतिहास में मंगोल सेनाओं के लिए भी प्रयोग हो सकता है।
