ホッパーは材料を入れて下の機械に送り出す容器です。他にもバッタ（昆虫）や、よく転職する人のことを指すことがあります。

工学や製造業では『グレインホッパー』『セメントホッパー』のように使います。昆虫の場合は通常『グラスホッパー』を使います。『job hopper』は転職を繰り返す人の意味です。
