अक्सर उपाधियों के साथ प्रयोग होता है: 'honorary degree', 'honorary chairman'। इसका कोई आधिकारिक अधिकार या ज़िम्मेदारी नहीं होती, यह सिर्फ़ सम्मान है। 'honorable' (सम्माननीय) से न मिलाएँ।
