কোনো কিছু যা ইতিহাসে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ এবং দীর্ঘ সময় স্মরণীয় হয়ে থাকবে, সেটিকে বলা হয় ঐতিহাসিক।

Usage Notes (Bengali)

‘Historic’ শুধুমাত্র পুরনো নয়, বরং যা ঐতিহাসিকভাবে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ। ‘Historical’ মানে ইতিহাস-সংক্রান্ত, কিন্তু ‘historic event’ মানে বিশেষভাবে স্মরণীয় ঘটনা। অধিকাংশ সময়ে আনুষ্ঠানিক বা গুরুত্বপূর্ণ প্রসঙ্গে ব্যবহৃত হয়।
