Definition

丘とは、山よりも低くてなだらかな土地の盛り上がりです。田舎によく見られ、草や木、家が建っていることもあります。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主に自然の地形を表します。「丘」は数えられる名詞で、「一つの丘」「二つの丘」などのように使います。'rolling hills' や 'uphill' などとセットでよく使われます。山（mountain）と混同しないように注意。
