Definition

丘は、山よりも小さくてあまり急ではない盛り上がった土地です。道路が登り坂や下り坂になっている部分も指すことがあります。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

多くの場合、自然な土地の高まりを指し、山ほど高くありません。「on a hill」「up/down a hill」などの表現でよく使います。道路やランニングで坂道を指すこともあります。
