周囲よりも高い場所で、丘や山の多い地域を指します。多くは標高の高い地域を表します。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

通常は複数形で使い、『the Highlands』のように特定地域を指すことが多いです。『uplands』とは意味が異なります。
