다른 사람이 보거나 찾지 못하게 자신이나 무언가를 숨기는 행위 또는 정보를 비밀로 하는 것.

"숨기다" 또는 "숨다"의 현재진행형 표현에 자주 쓰임. 'go into hiding'은 은신하다 의미. 비밀을 숨길 때에도 사용됨.

The cat is hiding under the bed.

고양이가 침대 밑에 **숨어 있다**.
