自分ではどうすることもできず、他人の助けがないと問題を解決できない状態を表します。一時的な感情や、もっと長い状態にも使われます。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

『helpless』は『feel helpless』のように使い、感情や動けない人・動物に使います。『hopeless』（希望がない）とは異なる意味です。
