Definition

激しく上下や前後に動いたり、人がいっぱいでとても混雑した様子。海や人混みなどに使われることが多い言葉。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

主に海、人混み、大きな動きについて使います。“heaving with people”は「人でごった返している」という意味です。個人の動きに対しては詩的に用いられます。
