Definition

অনিয়মিতভাবে বা এলোমেলোভাবে অনেক কিছু একসাথে জড়ো হলে তাকে ঢিবি বা স্তূপ বলা হয়। এটি সাধারণত অগোছালো বা অবিন্যস্ত অবস্থায় থাকে।

Usage Notes (Bengali)

'heap' সাধারণত এলোমেলোভাবে জড়ো কিছু বোঝাতে ব্যবহৃত হয়, যেমন 'a heap of clothes'। কথ্য ভাষায় 'অনেক বেশি' বোঝাতেও ব্যবহৃত হয়, যেমন 'a heap of work'। 'pile' থেকে একটু বেশি অগোছালো বোঝায়।
