Ver, ouvir ou sentir coisas que não existem na realidade, geralmente devido a doença, drogas ou falta de sono.

É mais comum em contextos médicos, psicológicos ou em registos informais. Frequente com drogas, febre alta ou cansaço extremo. 'Alucinar' não é o mesmo que 'imaginar', pois implica perda do contato com a realidade. Pode usar-se em tom de exagero: 'Acho que estou a alucinar'.
