保証とは、何かが起こる、うまく機能する、本当であることを約束することです。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

ビジネスや買い物、サービスなどでよく使われます。名詞では「返金保証」、動詞では「～を保証する」と使います。商業では「promise」より強いですが、絶対を意味しません。
