Chỉ người luôn muốn có nhiều tiền, đồ ăn hoặc vật chất hơn mức cần thiết hoặc xứng đáng. Thường mang nghĩa tiêu cực.

Thường mang nghĩa tiêu cực. Hay gặp trong cụm 'greedy for money', 'greedy businessman', 'greedy for power'. Với đồ ăn, 'hungry' là trung tính, còn 'greedy' nhấn mạnh đến sự tham lam vượt quá phần của mình.
