Semillas pequeñas y duras de plantas como el trigo, el arroz o el maíz, que suelen usarse como alimento. 'Granos' también puede referirse a estos alimentos en general.

Normalmente se usa en plural ('grains') al hablar de diferentes tipos o cantidades. Combinaciones comunes: 'whole grains', 'cereal grains', 'grains of rice/sand'. No confundir con 'grain' (singular), que se refiere a una sola partícula, o con la textura ('wood grain'). En temas de salud, 'whole grains' significa alimentos menos procesados y más saludables.
