「get」の過去形で、何かを受け取る、手に入れる、または何かの状態になることを表します。

日常会話で「get」の過去形として広く使います。「got up」「got out」などの句動詞や、「I've got...」のような表現でも使われます。アメリカ英語では過去分詞に「gotten」も使います。

She got a new book for her birthday.
