“Girlfriend” 指某人的戀愛對象，是女孩或女性。有時也可用來指女性朋友，但通常是情侶關係。

‘Girlfriend’ 通常指戀愛關係中的女伴侶，少數女性之間用於稱呼好朋友，但大多數情況下都是指情侶。不要將其和女性朋友 (female friend) 混用。
