「巨人」は非常に大きくて強い存在や人物、ものを指します。また、とても影響力のある人や組織を表す場合もあります。

童話やファンタジーでよく使われます。比喩的に非常に影響力のある企業や人（「tech giants」など）を指します。スポーツチーム名にも用いられます。形容詞の「giant」とは異なります。
