紳士（しんし）

Definition

礼儀正しく紳士的な男性たちを指す丁寧で正式な言い方です。集団の男性への呼びかけにも使います。

「Ladies and gentlemen」のように式典やアナウンスでよく使われ、大人の男性にのみ使います。現代ではカジュアルな言い方が増えています。

Gentlemen, please take your seats.

**紳士**の皆様、どうぞお席にお着きください。

The room was full of well-dressed gentlemen.

部屋にはよく着飾った**紳士**がたくさんいました。

The sign on the door says "Gentlemen".

ドアの表示には「**紳士**」と書かれている。
