Definition

'হাঁস (গুজ)' শব্দটি 'goose' (একবচন) এর বহুবচন, একাধিক বড় জলের পাখি, যারা লম্বা গলা নিয়ে থাকে, তাদের বোঝাতে ব্যবহৃত হয়।

Usage Notes (Bengali)

'goose' একবচন, 'geese' শুধুমাত্র একাধিক জন্য। হাঁস-জাতীয় পাখির ক্ষেত্রে 'duck' বা 'swan' এর সাথে গুলিয়ে ফেলবেন না। ইংরেজি কথায় 'wild goose chase' একটি প্রচলিত idiom।
