Definition

「集まり」とは、人々が社会的、家族的、宗教的、または公的な目的で一つの場所に集まるイベントのことです。小規模なものから大規模で計画的なものまで幅広く使います。

「family gathering」「community gathering」「small gathering」などの組み合わせでよく使われます。「集まり」は「パーティー」よりややフォーマルで幅広い場面で使え、真面目な印象にもなります。
