लोगों या चीज़ों को एक जगह इकट्ठा करना, या समूह में इकट्ठा होना। इसका मतलब समय के साथ जानकारी, पौधे या विचार जुटाना भी हो सकता है।

Usage Notes (Hindi)

आम प्रयोग: 'gather people together', 'gather information', 'gather flowers', 'gather around'। चीज़ों के लिए 'collect' अक्सर ज़्यादा तटस्थ होता है, जबकि 'gather' में अलग-अलग जगहों से साथ लाने या लोगों के इकट्ठा होने का भाव होता है। थोड़ा औपचारिक प्रयोग में इसका अर्थ सुरागों से समझना भी हो सकता है: 'I gather that...'.
