'Garland' শব্দটি আনুষ্ঠানিক এবং অনানুষ্ঠানিক উভয় ক্ষেত্রেই ব্যবহৃত হয়। 'flower garland', 'Christmas garland' ইত্যাদি বহুল প্রচলিত। 'wreath'—শোকের মালা—থেকে আলাদা।
