Definition

매우 차가워져서 얼음이 되거나, 무언가를 얼리다. 갑자기 움직임이 멈추거나 컴퓨터 등이 멈출 때도 사용된다.

Usage Notes (Korean)

‘freeze food’는 음식을 얼려 보관하는 것, ‘freeze to death’는 얼어 죽는 것, ‘my screen froze’는 컴퓨터가 멈췄음을 뜻함. ‘freeze with fear’는 두려움으로 몸이 굳는 것. ‘freezing’은 ‘매우 춥다’는 의미로도 자주 사용됨.
