Definition

這是「fight」的過去式。表示某人和別人動手、激烈爭論，或努力對抗某個問題、疾病或不公平的處境。

Usage Notes (Chinese (Traditional))

它既可表示身體上的打鬥，也很常表示非身體上的抗爭，如 'fought cancer'、'fought for freedom'、'fought over money'。'fight with' 常指和某人爭鬥；'fight for' 表示為某種目標而爭取；'fight against' 表示對抗有害的事物。發音上不要和 'caught' 或 'thought' 混淆。
