良いことが起こった時や悪い状況を避けられた時に使います。話者の気持ちを文全体に対して示す副詞です。

主に文頭で使われます（例：『Fortunately, ...』）。話し手の態度や気持ちを表します。'luckily'よりもややフォーマルな場合もあります。

Fortunately, the bus arrived on time.

**幸いに**、バスは時間通りに来ました。
