একটি শক্তিশালী ভবন বা ভবনগুলোর সমষ্টি যা সাধারণত দেয়াল দিয়ে ঘেরা থাকে এবং শত্রুর আক্রমণ থেকে রক্ষা করার জন্য নির্মিত হয়।

Usage Notes (Bengali)

'Fortress' শব্দটি 'castle' বা 'fort' থেকে বেশি আনুষ্ঠানিক ও ঐতিহাসিক এবং সাধারণত শক্তিশালী সামরিক প্রতিরক্ষার ক্ষেত্রে ব্যবহৃত হয়। কখনও কখনও এটি রূপক অর্থেও (‘emotional fortress’) ব্যবহার হয়।
