Definition

誰かが歩いたときの足の音や、地面に残る足跡のこと。

通常は複数形で使われる。'足音を聞く'や'足跡をたどる'などとよく一緒に使う。'follow in someone's footsteps'は、誰かの生き方や職業を受け継ぐ意味にもなる。
