「Flute」は通常西洋のフルートを指すが、文脈で他の横笛楽器全般も含むことがある。'champagne flute'は細長いシャンパングラスも意味する。'recorder'とは別物。よく使う表現：『フルートを吹く』『フルート奏者』『フルートソロ』。
