“flounder”多用於非正式或中性語境，常表示困惑、效果差或行動有困難，並不是字面上的跌倒。常出現搭配：'flounder in exams'（考試表現不好）。不要和‘founder’混淆。‘flounder’ 也指一種比目魚，這裡說的不是魚。
