Definition

浮かんでいるものは水や空気の上に沈まずにいることを表します。また、位置が固定されていない、自由に動く、変化するものに使います。

形容詞や分詞としてよく使い、例えば「浮かんでいる葉」や「プールで浮かんでいる」。「floating around」はアイデアや噂などに使う。「floating rate/price」は変動を表す。「flowing」との違いに注意。
