ノミ

Definition

小さくてジャンプする虫で、動物や人の血を吸います。猫や犬などのペットによく見られます。

普通は複数形で使います（ノミは一匹でいることがほぼないため）。「get fleas」は「ノミがつく」、「flea infestation」は「ノミの大発生」。厄介でしつこいものの比喩表現にもなることがあります。

My dog has fleas.

うちの犬には**ノミ**がいる。

Fleas can bite people and animals.
