押したり、つぶしたりして平らにされた状態のこと。もともとの高さや厚さが減ったことを表す。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

物や生地などが押されてぺちゃんこになった時によく使います。比喩的に組織などの階層が減る場合にも使われます。「flat（平ら）」とは異なり、押された結果の状態です。
