旗を掲げるための高い棒や支柱。主に学校や公共施設などの前に設置されている。

'旗竿'は比較的フォーマルな場面で使われる。日常会話では'ポール'や'旗の棒'と言うこともある。'旗'（布そのもの）と混同しないこと。
