Definition

フィクションとは、実際の事実ではなく、想像で作られた人や出来事、世界について描く文学や物語のことです。小説や短編などがこれに含まれます。

Usage Notes (Japanese)

通常は'nonfiction'（ノンフィクション）の反対語として使います。例：'science fiction'（SF小説）、'historical fiction'など文学ジャンルとして使うことが多いです。嘘や偽りの意味ではありません。
