Las fibras son hilos o estructuras largas y delgadas que pueden provenir de plantas, animales o ser sintéticas. También se usa para partes de los alimentos que ayudan a la digestión (fibra dietética).

En inglés británico se escribe 'fibres'; en inglés americano es 'fibers'. Es común en textos sobre textiles, nutrición ('dietary fibre') y ciencia. No confundir con 'thread' (hilo para coser). Distinguir entre 'fibre' como componente alimenticio y como material/textil.
