সুতো বা তারের মতো পাতলা অংশ যা গাছ বা উপাদানের অংশ হতে পারে, আবার খাবারে থাকা হজমে সহায়ক উপাদানও বোঝাতে পারে। "তন্তু" কাপড় বা খাবারের পুষ্টিকর অংশ বোঝাতে পারে।

Usage Notes (Bengali)

খাবার বা কাপড়ের প্রসঙ্গে প্রায়ই বহুবচন ('fibers') ব্যবহার হয়। প্রচলিত বাক্যাংশ: 'dietary fibers', 'natural fibers', 'synthetic fibers'। ব্রিটিশ ইংরেজিতে 'fibre' লেখা হয়।
